Join us for an unforgettable evening under the stars as we gather as a community to experience Allowed to Birth: The Journey of a Global Midwife, an award-winning documentary featuring internationally renowned global midwife Kristine Lauria.
This powerful film explores birth through a global lens, following Kristine’s work alongside mothers, families, birth workers, and healthcare professionals across diverse communities. Through deeply moving stories, Allowed to Birth highlights the importance of respectful maternity care, informed choice, skilled support, and protecting the dignity of women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Whether you are an expecting parent, birth worker, healthcare professional, student, or simply passionate about improving maternal and infant health, this documentary offers an inspiring and thought-provoking experience.
Following the screening, stay for a special live Q&A with Featured Midwife Kristine Lauria, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear more about her work, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversation about the future of maternity care.
Evening Schedule
7:30 PM EST – Community gathering, refreshments, and social time
8:00 PM EST– Outdoor screening of Allowed to Birth: The Journey of a Global Midwife
Immediately Following – Live Q&A with Kristine Lauria
What to Expect
This special event will be held outdoors on a jumbo screen, creating a unique community experience. Guests can enjoy popcorn and beverages while connecting with others who care deeply about families, birth, and maternal health.
Please bring your own folding chair or outdoor camping chair to enjoy the screening comfortably.
Parking will be available in the front lot of Wright Pediatric Dentistry. From there, simply walk between the buildings or around to the back, where the rear parking lot will be reserved and sectioned off for the screening.
